This policy describes what an SCCP certificate is, how it is earned, how anyone holding the verification link can check it, and when it can be withdrawn.
1. Completion is not certification
Working through a course records completion of that course. It does not produce a certificate.
A certificate is issued only after a qualifying result in the separate level exam for that level. Courses and exams are purchased and completed separately, and a course purchase does not include exam access unless it is expressly stated.
2. What a certificate represents
A certificate records that a named individual achieved a qualifying result in a specific SCCP level exam on a specific date, under the exam rules in force at that time.
3. Scope of the credential
The certificate is issued by SCCP Academy and evidences the holder's result in the Academy's own examination for that level.
It is an Academy-issued credential. It is independent of national, regulatory or statutory qualification frameworks, does not carry academic credit or professional licensure, and does not guarantee an employment outcome.
4. Certificate types
Beta certificate. Issued to learners taking part in a pre-release programme. It records a genuine exam result, is clearly labelled as a beta certificate on the artifact itself, and is not presented as an official Academy credential.
Official certificate. Issued once the corresponding level programme is formally released. Its type is shown in the certificate record and in the verification result.
Both types record a genuine result. The type is always disclosed and is never removed retrospectively from a certificate already issued.
5. Identity on a certificate
The holder name printed on a certificate is the name held on the learner account when the certificate is issued. Learners should ensure their account name is correct before sitting an exam. A correction of a genuine spelling error is made by reissuing the certificate with the same certificate number.
6. Certificate identity and verification
Each certificate has a unique certificate number and a secure verification link. The link, or the full verification code it contains, is required to check the certificate; the certificate number alone cannot be used to look one up.
There is no public directory of certificate holders. Certificates cannot be searched or browsed by name, email address, or issue date, and verification is designed so that holders cannot be enumerated.
A successful check on the verification page discloses only: holder name, certificate title, certificate type, level, issue date, expiry date, certificate number, issuer, and status. Scores, answers, email addresses, internal identifiers, and revocation notes are never disclosed.
Sharing the verification link is the holder's decision. A holder may ask the Academy to rotate the link, which invalidates the previous one, or to disable public verification for their certificate.
7. Validity and expiry
A certificate shows an issue date and, where the level applies one, an expiry date. An expired certificate remains a true record of the result achieved on the issue date and continues to verify with an expired status.
Certificates remain checkable through their verification link after course or exam access has ended.
8. Grounds for revocation
A certificate may be revoked where:
the qualifying result was obtained in breach of the Academic Integrity Policy;
the holder's identity was misrepresented, or the account was misused;
the purchase that entitled the holder to the qualifying attempt was refunded or reversed by chargeback;
the certificate was issued through an administrative or system error;
revocation is required by law.
9. Revocation process
The holder is notified in writing of the proposed revocation and the grounds, and is given a reasonable opportunity to respond before a final decision, except where immediate revocation is required by law.
A decision to revoke is recorded with reasons and may be appealed under the appeal route in the Academic Integrity Policy.
A revoked certificate verifies with a revoked status. The reason for revocation is never published on the verification page.
Where a revocation is later found to be wrong, the certificate is reinstated and the verification record corrected.
10. Misuse of certificates
Certificates must not be altered, forged, or misrepresented, including describing an SCCP certificate as an accredited or government-recognised qualification. Misuse may result in revocation and account termination.
